"Young Adult" Blog Party!!!

(Plus, if you have ever been labeled as one of those teenagers who won't do anything but sit, eat, sleep, and talk back to the parents, I think you would really like doing this!!!! ;) )

Anyway, the rules are to list 10 things that you do instead of just sitting around being lazy and bored. So here goes!
1. I love to read!!! I especially like Christian fiction. It just doesn't get much better than diving into a story where you know that you aren't going to have to quickly jump back out of it because there were a few sharks roaming through it's pages, if you know what I mean. ;)

2. I like to write. One day soon I would love to be a published author. I am currently working on a story that I think I might like to have published, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

3. I listen to music. My family is very musical, and one of the things I enjoy doing is listening to music (most of the time while I am doing some other activity, but on some occasions I do love to just sit down, close my eyes, and just listen. :) ) Most of the songs that I listen to are contemporary christian.

4. I work on my dramas. At my church we have a drama team. I ADORE being apart of the drama team. It seems like I can speak to people so much better in creative movement than in actual 'speaking'.

5. Photography. My mother is a photographer, which means that she some very cool (not to mention kinda BIG) cameras. It also means that I can take these cameras outside and shoot to my hearts content.

6. Play some basketball. When I was in Middle School my life's purpose was to play college basketball at Virginia Tech. I have since changed my mind, but I still like going outside and working on my dribbling or shooting technique.

7. Make jewelry. I have my own little business, Katie's Kreations, that helps me to not be completely broke. But, making jewelry isn't a chore of course. I like making stuff with my hands!

8. Play the bass guitar. I am in the praise band at my church, and I play the bass guitar. I just started learning the bass a few months ago, but it is very easy to learn and I really enjoy playing the band!

9. Hang out with my family. Most 'teenagers' think that spending time with your family is totally a waste of time. But not me. I know that one day I am going to be gone off to college, be married, have a family of my own and that time will never again be the same as it is right now. So I cherish the time I have with my family while I can and I look forward to the memories that I am going to be able to look back upon.

10. Astronomy. This may sound incredibly dull to some of you, but to me it's awesome. And it's not just astronomy that I like! I also LOVE the sky. (Don't worry! I will stop there and not bore you with WHY I love the sky. Haha, just know that I think if you take some of your time and look astronomy {or even the sky} up on your computer, you would be AMAZED at what God has put there for us to see!)

Daytona Beach!

Yup, it's true! I went to Daytona Beach a few weeks ago. I'm terribly sorry about not posting in such a long while. I am going to have to get it into gear, huh? :P The photo above is the view from my parent's hotel window.

Benjamin LOVED it. Here we tied the boogie board to Mom's beach chair, which was sitting where the ocean would come in and sweep over her feet. Benjamin would stand on the boogie board and when the water came in he would get a little ride. :) :) :)

I found a dead crab floating around in the water. (You might have noticed that I am wearing a tshirt in this picture instead of my bathing suit. Just in case you were wondering, I got sun burnt pretty bad and so I decided to wear my shirt to the beach this day to avoided further sunburn.)

After the beach my cousin, Caleb, and his friend, Kyle, came down to spend the weekend with us. All of the boys in our house (besides Benjamin) went to go play golf and us girls went to play putt-putt. That's Jackie up there.

Benjamin really loves putt-putt and he is good at it too! He got two or three holes-in-one. 0.0

Right now we are in the throws of VBS at my church. I have always loved VBS week. I am helping out with the music for the opening ceremony thing this year. The other girls who are doing it and I match every night and it is so much fun! My dad is this year's mascot. He is a astronaut. I'll see if I can't get a picture of him in his suit for you all. It's pretty great! As you may have guessed, this year's theme is Space, which is just fine with me because I love space. I mean, there are so many BEAUTIFUL things up there that God has made and yet he made us and loves us the most. Pretty crazy, huh?

Camp, Mountains, and Pancakes.

Alright, so just were HAVE I been these past few weeks? Well, first, I went to CAMP! I love church camp! This years theme was Space Camp. Below is my team's ship that we carried around during the game time.

These are a couple of friends I met at camp this year. We went on a hike and this is what was at the top. Beautiful what God makes, huh?

This was also on the hike. We were so close to the power lines that you could hear the electricity moving through the lines!

Several people brought guitars and during our free times we would gather and sing songs. FUN!!! Of course, this has made me want to learn the acoustic guitar. Hehe, will see how that goes ;) .

After camp, I stayed a week in the mountains visiting friends and family. Below, you can see some of my friends riding on one of my friends horses. I adore horses! They are so beautiful and just down right cool. :P

I also made a pepperoni/celery pizza at one of other friend's houses. YUMMMMMMM!!!!!

I got home on Friday. Saturday we had a pancake breakfast fundraiser for our trip this next week. Down there is Daddy holding up signs on the side of the road, trying to flag down some cars to stop. Go, Daddy, go!!!!! :)

Well, thats where I have been! I might get to post next week, might not. Just depends. :)

... MY KINDLE! Yes thats right. i finally figured out how to get online with my kindle and now i am extremely happy. this is also why you will notice that there is pretty much no puncuation and probably some mispellings. just so you know.

anyway as you know i have been away for about three weeks now and will be gone again next week. i had a wonderful time at the mission trip and at camp. this past week i was at my grandparents andthat was super fun as well. i will post pictures when i am able and will go into more detail.

i will say this one thing though. my mind has been changed about one subject this past week. what is the subject yu ask? SILLYBANDS. i admit that i was quite prejudice against them for a while. but then my sister gave me some VT sillybands. the world has never been the same since. of corse one of my friends then gave me a few of hers and i am now proudly wearing all six of my sillybands on my arm. im really moving up in the world huh? haha. i just might post pictures on here of all my sillybands. what do you think about sillybands?

Yep! This is it! My 100th post... Wow... You know, it's kinda like a birthday. I expect things to feel, I dunno... different, I guess. But do they? No. Oh well! I'm gonna have fun celebrating anyway! :P

Ok, before we get any farther into the post, I have to say that I made a wittle boo-boo. This is actually my 99th post. I was going through some of my posts and I found an unpublished post. And so, I thought that I had posted 99 times, when really it was only 98. :/ I was extremely let down. But oh well! :P

We took it to the shop a few days ago and guess what! My screen is completely fried. Dead. NON EXISTENT! *sigh* SO. BE A GOVERNOR'S PAGE IN RALEIGH! That means that I went to Raleigh and delivered mail for the department I was assigned, I stuffed envelops, looked stuff up on the computer for a few people, etc. If you have questions about this after I am all finished with the post, just ask in a comment, and I will be more than happy to try and answer!

That is a sign outside of the Governor's Mansion telling about it. We (all the other Governor's Pages and I) toured quite a bit during our stay in Raleigh. I really enjoyed going to the Governor's Mansion. It's so pretty!

These are the other girl pages and I. There were four boys, but I didn't get a picture of them all together. :(

This is from the Legislative Building, which was also my secondary building. That means of there was any mail to deliver to the Legislative building, I was the one to do it! :D

This is also from the Legislative building. This is where all the County Representatives meet and discuss laws and all that.

This was my desk where I worked on little projects throughout the week.

I was assigned to the Department of Cultural Resources, which is in the State Library (I was in Heaven! Haha!). This binder is holding all the information of pages past that were assigned to the same department as I was. In it, there was a little bit of personal info (like where they went to school and such) and then after that there was a page where they could write to future pages and give them advice, tell them where all the good places to eat are, give encouragement, blah, blah, blah. :) I really enjoyed reading through that!

So, yeah. That's where I was and I am so sorry for not posting before this! :/ I was pretty busy getting settled back into the family routine.

On another point, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! I would like to say Happy Mother's Day to my lovely mother, Michelle (www.galyeanbattalion.blogspot.com). I love you, Momma. Thanks for all you do! You are a wonderful mother and great friend! I couldn't have asked God for a better Mom.

Going to be gone awhile

Hey everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am going to be gone most of next week. Actually, I will probably be gone ALL of next week. Why, you ask? Well, that is just going to be a little secret until I get back! Then you can see where I have been. ;) Just something for you to wonder about for the next week or so. :P

My poll about a photography blog had ended and I want to say thank you to everyone who voted in it! I will probably be starting a photography blog sometime here soon, however we will have to get my own personal computer up and running again before that can happen. :( Thanks again to everyone who voted!

Yes, this is my second post today, and I am aware that I usually don't post more than once a day. However, this is a special occasion! And I am posting twice today. Just so you know. :P

Here are the questions for Eldarwen's Blog Party (http://thefaithfulelvenprincess.blogspot.com/) :

1) How old are you? I am 15.
2) What name do you go by on blogger? Katie G.
3) When is your birthday? December 8th
4) If you could live anywhere in the world, besides where you live now, where would it be? The mountains! I love the mountains. We used to live in the mountains, but then my Dad got a job as a band director at a school and we had to move. :(
5) How did you find out about Blogger? Well, I had been bugging my Mom to get a blog for awhile now because she had officially started her photography business. So she signed up and I eventually convinced her to let me get a blog as well.
6) Tell us something interesting about yourself: When I was about eight or nine my whole family did Operation Christmas Child. Everyone got their own shoebox and I filled mine up for a girl who was around my age. I put a picture of myself in the box as well as a letter with address in it. I told the girl that if she ever got the chance, I would love to receive a letter from her. Well, a few months later, I received a letter from Latvia! My Mom looked at it and she was so confused. "Latvia? Why on earth are you getting letters from LATVIA?" We opened it and it was from the girl that received my shoebox!!! Her name was Kitija. We wrote back and forth for a long time until we both moved and now I don't know where Kitija is or what she is doing, but I still pray for her.
7) What was your favorite toy when you were little? I had a little purple unicorn with hot pink hair that I got from a McDonald's Happy Meal. That thing wasn't any bigger than length of the palm of my hand (my hand now anyway :D ), but that unicorn was the bomb.
8) What is your favorite meal? Have you ever cooked/helped cook that meal? My favorite meal is probably fettuccine alfredo with salad, beans, and garlic bread. And yes, I have helped cook this before.
9) If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? The high frizz factor that my hair seems to adore. -.-
10) Are you an outside person, or an inside person? Depends on what day you catch my. And what season it is!
11) Are you a mommy's boy/girl, or a daddy's boy/girl? I think I am probably both! haha.
12) In one word, describe the feeling you get when you stub your toe, after just being told by your parents that you are grounded for the next month: Frustration.
13) Let's say you TP'd your friend's house (for those of you who don't know what TP'd stands for, it means toilet papered. As in, put toilet paper on their trees, cars, house, porch, etc.). If someone asked you why you TP'd your friends house, you would say: Oh man... I have never TP'd anyones house so I have no idea... Probably something like '' 'Cause it was fun" or something..
14) Have you ever gone swimming in deep, dark, dirty water? yes... *shudder* I was at camp one year. Instead of having a pool, they had a roped of area in a pong. A VERY dirty pond. Like so dirty you could barely see your hand in front of your face kinda dirty. Gross.
15) Have you ever dreamed about getting ready to leave the house, and forgetting to get your pants on? Um, no. Not that I remember.
16) Have you ever done something so ridiculous, that you wish you'd never done it? If so, what? Yes, I know for a fact that I have, but right now I can't remember what that was.
17) Imagine that you saw a purse snatching. What would you do?
a. scream and run away
b. move out of the state/country
c. tackle the purse snatcher to the ground.
d. ignore it, start whistling, and turn the other direction.
I think I would try to do 'c', but I'm not sure how that would turn out. :-/

18) How many friends do you have on blogger? LOTS.
19) What makes blogging so much fun for you? Just being able to share some of what my life is like with others. Plus, I really like typing, :)
20) You're a turtle, who has bet that you can win a race with a rabbit. How does it turn out? The rabbit gets to scared, he packs all his stuff up, moves out of the country, and change his name to Jack Sparrow, after his role model. I would be declared the winner since I didn't run away (not I could have. I'm a turtle after all!) and then I go home and have a piece of garlic bread.

1) Well, I would really like to live in Genesis, the first book of the Bible. I just really like that part of the Bible and I think it would be awesome to be able to see all that went on in that book.

2) The Door Within Series by Wayne Thomas Batson. I LOVE those books. They have a lot of action in them and are Christian as well.

3) The Dragon Keeper Chronicles by Donita K. Paul. Can you imagine living with all of those dragons??? That would be pretty awesome. ;)

4) Dragons In Our Midst/Oracles of Fire series by Bryan Davis. These two series are a telling of one story and I really like them!

5) The Millie Keith series. I would totally be Millie's best friend if I could. She is AWESOME.

6)The Dreamhouse Kings series by Robert Liparulo. Xander is my favorite. Just saying. :P

7) The Berinfell Prophecies by Wayne Thomas Batson and Christopher Hopper. There is only one book in this series right now, but I can already tell you that I love these books!

8) The Inheritance Cycle wouldn't be a bad book to live in either. I mean DRAGONS! :P Hehe, I really like dragons. :)

1. If you had to describe yourself in one word, what would you say? I would probably say 'quiet' .

2. If you could go anywhere in the world with anyone you wanted to, where would you go and who with? I think I would go to Greece and I would take my mother, father, sister, brothers, and my best friend Ashley.

3. If you could have one superpower, what would it be? To be invisible. Can you say FUN???

4. What is one habit (or two ;) that you get teased about a lot? Well... That would be my habit of taking one of my curls and rubbing in between my thumb and first finger. I started doing it when I was little and I just never stopped.

5. What is (or are) your food obsession(s)? NOODLES! I love noodles.... and salad! I love salad too....

6. What is the best April Fools prank you pulled on someone or that someone pulled on you? Hmmm... I don't really know. I guess the best one that I have ever really played on someone would be the time that I told my Dad that he had gum on the bottom of his shoe. He looked at this shoe and says "What?! Where?" He was kinda frantic. He he....

7. If you were an inanimate object, what would you be? I think I would like to be a book if I were an inanimate object. Maybe an old one?

8. Let's say you could change the world in one way. How would you change it? In some way to help further Christ in all the world.

9. You have a million dollars (*gasp* ;). How do you spend it? I probably donate most of it to orphans and such. Then I think I would make sure that all my family's bills were paid and all and then I would make sure that I had enough to make it through college. With whatever was left (if any) I think I would buy a ton of books. Maybe start my own library...

10. What is one thing that always takes your breath away? (That could mean in a good way OR a bad way)Sunsets. They display so much of God's beauty and love for us! I love them.

11. You are granted three wishes. What do you wish for? (Remember, you can't wish for more wishes ;) Hmm... 1) For enough money to never be in debt and to be able to make sure that none of my family or friends is ever in debt 2) For people to be moved to adopt more children 3) Well, I've always wanted my own horse :P Ha ha.

12. You can spend the day with one character from a book or series that you've read. Who is that character?Just one?!?!?!?!? AHHH!!!! *faint*

13. What is something odd or interesting about you that is not commonly known? Well, I love to talk to people that I know well. Most people who see me or just kinda know me, probably think I am the most quiet girl you will ever know. And around them I probably am (I can be so shy it gets on MY nerves... ) , but around my closest friends, I love to talk and listen to them. :)

14. What is one thing that you absolutely positively cannot stand? Constant noise. I like the quiet :) .

15. Say you committed a crime. The judge gives you a choice between sentences: twenty years of complete solitude in the mountains or never having another moment alone for the rest of your life. Your choice? I would probably pick the solitude.

16. What is one benefit that blogging has given you? Meeting new people.

17. A perfect day in your eyes would be...? I would wake up and head on out to search bookstores. After lunch I would spend sometime with my friends and we would go to a water park (I love water parks :D). Then when we were done and had all eaten dinner I would come back home and watch a Bones marathon on TV, but no commercials.

I just bought this Christian book on Amazon.com for 99 cents for my Kindle! I haven't gotten to read it yet, so I can't tell you if it is good or not, but one of my favorite authors, Wayne Thomas Batson ( www.enterthedoorwithin.blogspot.com ), posted on his blog about this and he has assured us all that this book is worth reading. You can go to his blog to see what he wrote about it.

I just thought you all might want to know about this. It is sure to be a great read! :D

Old Dogs (the movie)

So I recently watched Old Dogs. In my opinion it was a great movie! I loved it! It was HILARIOUS and very sweet at the same time. I love funny movies :) . Anyway, it is about a guy who just recently learned that he is actually a father to a set of seven-year-old twins. When their mother has to go away for two weeks, he ends up taking care of them along with his best friend. However, at the same time these two men are also trying to pull off the biggest business deal of their lives.

I just thought I would let you all know that I liked this movie A LOT and maybe you might like to watch it sometime. If you do (or already have for that matter :P ) tell me what you thought in a comment!

1. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Umm... Probably Greece. We have been learning about it in school and I have always like it.

2. Why did you start blogging? Well, I starting blogging two years ago, when I was 13, and I don't really remember having a specific reason. I think I just thought it would be incredibly cool. (And I was right! :D )

3. What is your ambition? Ah, now that is a good question. As of right now, I am just trying to figure out what God wants me to do. I would like to become a photographer.

4. How many siblings do you have? I have three siblings. Jackie (13), Joseph (11), and Benjamin (4).
5. What's your favorite subject in school? Er... Well, I really don't have a "favorite". But I do like reading and music.

6. What is your favorite Bible verse? WAY to many to chose from! But I like Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 49:13, and Philippians 4:13. Just to name a few. ;)

7. What is one of your hobbies? Writing. I love to write. I just recently started a new story tat I call 'Fire'. If anybody wants to know what it is about post a comment!

8. If someone handed you a five dollar bill, what would you do with it?
a. slip it in your wallet and think, "Ooh, this will buy me a yummy meal at Sonic!"
b. shove it in your pocket and forget about it, then while you're doing laundry you find it and say, "Hey, mom! Here's that five dollar bill I got the other day!"
c. give it to your younger sibling. It's just five dollars.
d. use it to buy that homeless man a meal.
hmm... probably 'a'. Just take out 'yummy meal at Sonic' and then insert 'book at the used bookstore!' :P

9. If your sibling came to you with their math book and asked for help, you'd say:
a. "Oh, here, let me help you."
b. "Too bad. I'm not good at math. Go ask mom."
c. "I'm sorry, I'm not very good at math. Can you go ask someone else?"
d. "I'm not good at math, but I'll try!"
Probably a, but then they would most likely go to mom anyway because I confused them further! :P

Rain...

Does anyone else love the rain? Or, to be more exact, the sound of rain? I sure do! Someone should record the sound of rain and sell it. Of course, a recorded version could never even touch the sound of real rain. I especially like to listen to it when I am going to sleep, or when I am under a tin roof. Sometimes I will even stand on something and put my ear up against a low ceiling just so that I can hear more distinctly the sound of each drop hitting the roof. It is like God is telling me that He loves me. Like He is wrapping me up in His wonderful arms and telling me that it is going to be alright whenever I have had a bad day. Like yesterday, I just woke up feeling all depressed and lonely and pretty much went through the day feeling like that. Later that night, I was reading my Bible and came to Isaiah 49:13. It says:

" Shout for joy, O heavens;

rejoice, O earth;

burst into song, O mountains!

For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones."

As soon as I finished reading that, it started raining! Immediately I felt better. I knew that God and sent those few minutes of rain just for me.

Does anything make you feel this way? I hope so.

Happy 13th Birthday, Jackie!

Tuesday was my younger sister's 13th birthday! Jackie is now an official teen!

We started the day out by taking the whole family out to eat for breakfast. Then my parents, Jackie, and I all went to the mall to get Jackie a pair of black Converse that she has been asking for for a while now.

While we were at the mall we decided to take a ride on the carousal. You can see my dad below riding on his faster-then-lighting zebra! Jackie decided on a panda and I rode a tiger that came complete with a very hard, plastic back! :D My mother decided to just take pictures.

We went out to eat for lunch and then it was off to the beach for Jackie's birthday pictures. Each year, my Mom takes us out somewhere and we do our birthday pictures. Jackie chose the beach. So while Jackie and Momma went around taking pictures, Daddy and I went around trying to find shelter from the chilly wind. I also took a few pictures with my digicam.

I know that Jackie isn't actually in this one, but I really like it! What do you think?

And then! We went to COLD STONE CREAMERY!!!! If you have never been to this place, you need to go ASAP. It's awesome. Anyway, that picture down there is my mother, Jackie, and I all enjoying our various ice creams. YUM.

Basketball has come to a (almost) close!

Well, the church basketball season ended today for my team and I. We played two games. We won the the first and lost the last. In the first game, I hit three 3 pointers plus another 2 pointer basket! In the second game I had to come out of the game during the fourth period because I got an elbow to the nose. My nose started bleeding pretty bad, but it stopped about ten to fifteen minutes after the blow and now all the swelling has gone down! :D All that's left is a headache.

Below is the whole team. I am in the green jacket and Jackie, my sister, is over two people from me.

And here I am holding ice up to my nose after the bleeding had stopped.

Now, the reason I say that the season has almost come to a close is my church as an annual "March Madness" night. That night the church ladies go against the church girl youth in basketball! The same thing happens for the all the men and boys. I can't wait for it to happen! Last year the girls and boys youth won. I wonder if it will be the same this year???

Tomorrow is my Mom's birthday (www.galyeanbattalion.blogspot.com )! So, just in case I can't post tomorrow, I want to go ahead and say Happy Birthday to my Mom. I love you, Mommy!

1. What's your favorite time of the day, and why? Hmm... I don't really have a 'favorite' time of day, but I do like meal times! :P

2. If health wasn't an issue, what food could you live off of? Aw, man. I could TOTALLY live of off Fettuccine Alfredo and garlic bread... Yum....

3. If you could have one wish granted (besides wishing for more wishes), what would it be? Well, now, that's a bit of a hard one... I guess that I would wish for World Peace... Just kidding! :P I really have no idea what I would wish for!

4. What's one thing that you get teased about a lot? That would be my feet. I have very big feet. I trip over them a lot. It's really quite funny most of the time.

Probably either Bryan Davis' series "Dragons in our Midst"/"Oracles of Fire" or Wayne Thomas Batson's "The Door Within" series. As far as the character goes, I would be the quiet one in the back, waiting to see what is going to happen.

6. If you could have one talent that you don't already have, what would it be? To be able to read school books faster, yet still retain everything... Yes, that would be quite heavenly :D

7.If money were no object, where would you go on vacation? I would go all over the world and take pictures to my heart's content.

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, what would it be? Biggest book store in the world!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Well, I finished it! It took me longer than expected, but I did have to read it a little slower because of the time period that it was written. I liked it a lot, though! It really was quite funny in some parts! :D

For CHRISTmas, my sister received the movie "Pride and Prejudice". So, now that I have finished the book, I plan on watching it just to see what's different and if I like the book or the movie better. I always try to read the book before the movie..... And this isn't exactly on topic, but I urge you to read Eragon and then go watch the movie again! You really will see that the movie DOES NOT give the book justice. At all.

ANYWAY, we will see how the movie is and I will let you guys know what I think soon! :P

Happy (late) Valentine's Day, Everyone! I hope you all had a great day! I had pretty good one, but (as you should already know :P ) I twisted my ankle pretty bad last night. Thing is, I wasn't even really doing much of anything! What happened was I was playing Knock Out with a friend and I was running/walking (scurrying?) back to the Free Throw Line and I just stepped on my ankle weird and it went -pop!- . *sigh*

So who knows why we have Valentine's Day? Well, until about 1969, it was another saint's day (St. Valentine) observed by the Catholic Church. It was removed from the Catholic Church Calender in 1969, but it has continued on to become a national holiday!

So what did this guy do to get a national holiday named after him? As the story goes, Valentine was a Roman priest when his King decided that there were to few men in the army. So in order to gain more soldiers, he decided to make marriage against the law. The soldiers would have less to loose, I guess? Anyway, Valentine DID NOT agree with this, and so he started preforming secret marriages! Well, you probably guessed this, but he one day he caught, was taken to prison and sentenced to death. However, while he was in the prison the jailers daughter came to him. The jailer's daughter was blind, but Valentine prayed over her and she received her sight! Well, they fell in love, but Valentine was still killed :( . He left the jailer's daughter a note though, and signed it 'Your Valentine' .

He is such the fashion minded hero. Notice the long cape that ends in points an begins with duck taped ears. The mask is also a fine point to the costume as it is crooked and adds mysteriousness. The normal athletic looking clothes that wears underneath are just so he look pretty casual in case he needs too. But in reality, these same clothes that you now peer at are really bullet proofed, fire proofed, water proofed, and (as an add on) Boo proofed. The socks are just socks though. He forgot his shoes.

There is my puppy! He is all better now and I would like to thank you all for the prayers! He is jumping around and is showing cat who is boss. (Of course, that means that she likes my chair all the more... But, that's alright as we seem to have come to an agreement. One half of the chair is mine while the other half is hers. What she doesn't know is that I sit on her side when she isn't around :P )

Okay, I just realized that I (once again) forgot to do the Teen Girl's Daybook! I am very sorry about this. I am going to have to find some way to remind myself... Hmm... Any ideas, anybody???

Tomorrow (hopefully tomorrow, anyway) I am going to blog about a superhero who seems to have taking a liking to my house! It's really very exhilarating.... :P

My Poor Puppy....

This is my poor, sick puppy. He is still throwing up and he won't eat hardly anything. We are having to force him to drink liquids... We have officially named him, though! His name is Bladen. Personally, I was pulling for the name Jones. Both of our dogs would have 'j' names (Jackson and Jones) and he just looks like a Jones to me, but Benjamin (my 4 year old little brother) would have nothing of it. His name was to be Bladen, and that was that. (Kinda funny how much "power" you have when you are smaller, huh?)

Anyway, we have been nursing Bladen back to a more healthy state in our living room. Boo (the cat that abhors dogs with a passion) now spends most of her time in my room in my chair, sleeping. I'm not quite sure that I agree with this, but if I try to move her, she will just hop right back up there on the chair, hiss at me, and go back to sleep. Needless to say, I gave up trying to regain my chair. Hopefully, once Bladen is back on his feet she will move out of "my" chair and go back downstairs.

On a different note, I had a church basketball game this morning. And I swished a THREE POINTER! It was my first three pointer ever in a game! I'm pretty excited with myself... I will try to get some pictures up of my church team when I can. I am number 13 again this year. It kind of grew on me last year I think.

I got a new puppy! AND it has parvo!!! Woo hoo!

Well, as the title says I got a new puppy! We aren't sure what kind he is (we got him from the local shelter), but he is really cute and pretty laid back for a puppy (That's a GOOD thing!). I took the pictures below with my new digicam that I got for CHRISTmas. In the picture below, you have probably noticed that the subject is not a dog, but a cat. Well, that is because my cat, Boo, abhors dogs and I thought I would give you a look at what she thought of the whole thing. Notice the arched back and extremely fluffy tail.Here he is getting some playing time with our other dog, Jackson.
And here Mom is giving him some love which he is really getting into! Can't you just see that look in his eye? Oh yeah... That's the spot...

We haven't named the thing yet, but there are some suggestions floating about the house.

However, this isn't the all happy-go-lucky story that it might seem to be. Wanna know why? Good. It is because yesterday Nameless woke up and was throwing up and not eating. As the day progressed, it got worse and my Mom finally decided to take him to the vet (when my mother decides to take an animal to the vet, it's pretty bad). So, now Jackie is making him drink some Gatorade every 30 minutes and we are praying that Jackson doesn't get it as well. Please be praying for us!

On a happier note, our church now has the beginnings of a youth drama team! I am really enjoying that and we recently preformed a version of the drama to the song "He Is" . We only had four people in it, but I still think that we did pretty awesome! I will try to get a video of us doing up sometime soon!

Yup! Today is my birthday and it's my 15th. I can't believe I'm 15. I know, I know! Most of the time the one having the birthday isn't supposed to be the one saying 'I Can't believe I'm that old!!!'. That is supposed to be your parents, aunts, grandmothers, and (in my case) little sisters. But, hey! Give me a break! I'm going to be driving soon! :0

Speaking of driving! I have had two driving sessions with my driver's ed teacher so far! It's going pretty good! Tomorrow is my 3rd time, so please be praying for me!

I have decided to have some fun! What I'm going to do is, I'm going to get my iPod, put it on Shuffle, and list the first 12 songs that it picks. I and three other girl at my church are doing a drama called Testify to Love. We did this drama at my old church, Cornerstone. I was never actually apart of this drama, but I always thought it looked cool. The video above is close to what we are doing, though there are a few changes. Church Camp and Katie's Kreations Necklaces and Sets

First of all, some pictures of my necklaces and jewelry sets that I have made. The pink one ended up being Jackie's. It looks a whole lot like her, huh?

This one was one of my favorites. A lot of the beads are actually magnets. VERY COOL!

And now for (Drum roll, please!) ~

CHURCH CAMP!!!

Well, I just spent about five days at one of the best camps in the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD!!!! I had so much fun! I woke up everyday at about 7:00 am and breakfast was at 8:30. After breakfast we would go up to the tabernacle and have a morning devotion. After the wonderful devotions, we would go to our electives. My elective was PAINTBALL!!! It was so much fun! The first day I played, I went out there and got shot in the neck. OOPS... It started bleeding and I had the camp nurse look at it. All she had to do was clean it. After that was lunch and then game time. After games, we went back to the cabins and got cleaned up for church in the evenings. Church is always my favorite part of the day. We have a great worship service! After the service, we had one or two more games and then it was time to go to bed and do the whole thing over again tomorrow! I had a WONDERFUL time and am planning to go back for Virginia Church of God Youth Camp 2010!

Here are a few examples of the earrings that I have made for my new jewlery business, 'Katie's Kreations'. To earn money for camp and such, I started making jewelry. Now, I have jewlery in a local shop and it brought in over one hundred dollars a couple of weeks ago! I was so excited and thankful, because that took care of about 1/3 of the total amount! THANK YOU, GOD!

About two weeks ago we (My family and our Awana Trek group) went to visit the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was great! There I found out that I have an interest in astronomy. I guess we will see where that goes, huh? :)

Swordfish and Tim Hawkins

On Friday, Dad took us all out to do a day trip to a few places. First, we went to Lake Waccamaw and we saw 4 wild alligators! Now, we are mountain people, and alligators do NOT congregate up in the mountains! We were all looking at them and Mama was taking pictures like crazy! Benjamin saw one and he covered up his eyes with his hands and started screaming, "I'm not looking, Mama! I'm not looking, Mama! Get me outa this mess!" Who knows where he learned that little part about the "mess".....

Later that evening, we went to a seafood place. The only seafood restaurant I can really remember going to is our Mountain Surf, the squatty little seafood place up in the mountains. So, going into this big building with a whole bunch of aquariums, was quite the new experiance. I had never seen sushi before either. GROSS.... I didn't try it (my Dad didn't try it, and if he doesn't try it, it's a big no-no!), but I DID try swordfish!!! It tasted a lot like tuna steak! It was really good! I just wish I could have seen it's nose! :)

Benjamin, the free throw shooter!

The picture above was taken with my video camera/digi cam. Today Benjamin and I went down to the basketball court and shot some hoops! Benjamin was trying to shoot some free throws, but he kept shooting straight up. After getting bopped in the head a few times, he started covering his head with his hands, ducking, and running forward. It was really amusing and cute! Maybe (if I can figure out how) I will get a video of him doing it and post it on here!

Well, this week Mama wanted me to put my school writing on my blog so that my family and friends could see what we are learning! We have been learning about the Jewish people, and what some of their customs are. This week I wrote about the Shofar horn that they use during some of their ceremonies. Here is the paper:

The Shofar and All that goes with It

The Shofar is mainly made out of a ram's horn, though it can also be made out of any Kosher animal's horns, excepting cows and oxen. First, the horn is boiled in water until it is soft. It is then hollowed out and slightly flattened. While the horn hardens, the mouth piece is carefully shaped. Sometimes, especially in the Middle East, the Shofar horn will be very long and curved.

In the Bible, the Shofar was used to herald great moments! For example, when a new king was crowned, on the Jubilee that took place every fifty years, in the Sabbath, and other festivals. It also signaled the army during wartime.

There are three different calls the Shofar can make. They are called the "Tekiah", "Shavarim", and "Tervah". The Tekiah is a long, low sounding call the progresses to almost a whole octave higher when it ends. The Sheverim consists of three short notes. Last, but not least, is the Tervah, which makes nine quick, sharp, notes the end high.

This picture was taken by my Mom, Michelle, at one of my recent basketball games.You can see me in this picture behind #3. In all but one of my games I have been the tallest player on the floor. I am 5' 8". Anyway, this was an away game. We lost this game. You can also see our #1 point guard, Tyler, in front of me. I play a post position, which is where you play right under the basket. I love to play basketball, which is why my blog is called what it is!

Well, I don't know about you all, but I had a GREAT Christmas! I got three new books. They are 'The Warrior Heir', 'Here, There be Dragons', and 'The Search for the Red Dragon'. The last two are by the same author, James A. Owen. I'm afraid that I can't remember who the first one is by right now . *whistles innocently*
I also got new journals and pens. The journals are going to be used for writing journals. A writing journal is what an author may carry around with him (or her! ) self to write down things that pop into their minds while they are not in a place to write the idea down. Like in the store, or a resturant.
Well, I got alot of other stuff, but as it is WAY past my bed time, I can't write them all down. Good night!

Wow! I see that I have not posted in about 2 months! We have been very busy around here! Just to list some things:

My team is called the Crusaders. We consist of 10 Middle School girls. We have been playing mostly JV teams, though. You see, there are no middle school teams in our region (which also means that we automatically get to go to state!). We haven't won a game yet, though we have come close!!! I literally interceded for these wonderful people who do not deserveall the hate against them. . . .Monday and into Monday Night - the burden of prayer was so heavy that I wasliterally shaking and could not stop weeping. ( I didn't know that theywere coming to Ohio .) I prayed and walked and wept and walked. . . . onand on.Tuesday at 2:00 A.M. - God spoke these words to me - 'Go turn the Radioon!' Immediately the Reporter's Words w ere - 'McCain & Palin Bus to be inLebanon later this morning for a 10:00 A.M. Rally!'Immediately on hearing that news, I heard God again...God said, 'You are to go. You will meet them and give them a message forMe!'[]. . . . .I didn't stop praying until I drove over to the town and parkedthe car. Yep! That's right! We are moving again! You see, the house that we are( or should I say were??? ) in was kept on the market. We actually told the guy that we are renting the house from to keep it on the market because they had had it on the market for a couple of years and had barely been looked at. We figured that it wouldn't hurt to just keep it on the market. Well... uh.. you see what happened! smilies src="http://img2.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/confused/confused0081.gif" border=0>

Well, I am actually glad that we are moving because the house that we are moving to has built in speakers so that you can listen to music, and that is in almost every room! I thought that was really cool! Also, this house is bigger than the house we are currently living in. THAT IS A VERY BIG PLUS!

So, do you like the new look??? I got kinda board of the dots so I changed! I think I like this better but I'm not sure yet. What do you guys think???? OH! Here is a video that I think yall will like!:

The Rise of the Wyrm Lord

Aiden has come back from Alleble very changed. He now paints and practices his sword. He also has a very strong trust in King Eliam. He is starting High School this year, and is very nervous. BOO! He, he.. Yes, it is finally me! After not writing for almost a month, I AM BACK!!!!!!!!! So, I took that picture up there on our way to the OBX, about 2 weeks ago. I think I am going to to change my picture over there in the 'about me' thingy. This year, at the OBX Benjamin swam for the first time! YAY BANJAMIN!!!!! He looked really cute in his swim vest that Tia Shannon gave him. As you can most likely tell from the picture, he LOVED swimming!
Yep... That's my Mom..... Can you tell we don't play put-put much?!?!?!

And that's my Dad. When we took this picture, we were all at our new home, taking a break from unpacking. We saw a butterfly and went to see if we could catch it. Well, it, uh, kinda caught my dad......... He, he....?

This book was GREAT! When Nathen Shepard's parents are murdered, his world turns upside-down. He has to go to a "safe-house" before the murderer gets him too. Then he discovers a mirror them shows different realms and a camera that takes pictures of things that aren't really there. He also finds out that his parents might not really be dead! I'm not going to let anything thing else out though, so if you want to the answers to these questions, you will have to read the book!!!!!!

I AM SO SORRY!!!! Things have been SO crazy around here! I got back from Basketball camp to learn that we are moving!!! Then yesterday, our ST. Bernard, Mia, got hit by a car! You know, it's strange because Mia's sister, Maya, got hit by a car on the very same road! Strange, huh?

The picture up there is a picture that I took next to one of the houses that we are looking at renting.

Basketball camp was great the other picture up there is of my playing basketball. Kindale, my room mate is also up there.

Hi! I have just read one of the best books that I have ever read. It's called "The Door Within" . As I have already stated, it was one of the best books that I have read! It has twists and turns and loops and dips! Actully, I just discribed a roller-coaster..... SO, if you like roller-coaster books, you should read this book! It's by Wayne Thomas Batson. Hi everyone! I am back from church camp! It was pretty fun. Although, it is my personal opinion that it wasn't as good as last year. Oh well! It was still fun!I had a GREAT cabin! The girls were also great, if a bit talkative while I was trying to go to sleep . Just kidding! Everybody was AWESOME!

(MORE!!!) Baby Hamsters

Yes, that's right! MORE BABY HAMSTERS!!!!!! One of Jackie's former baby hamsters (White Lily) had baby hamsters!!! 10 of the little rodents. Although, one of them has died, so actually right now it is only 9. Jackie was groaning and carry on like no other! I think she doesn't like hamsters as much as she used to. She even let Rosie and another one of the hamsters (something to do with a flower... Jackie really likes flowers...) go into the wild! The "other hamster " was looking REALLY pregnant. I think that's why Jackie let her go. You see why I have a boy hamster!!!

I think that brings the total of all hamsters to: 12!!!!!!

Well, about a week ago my Mom and I entered a photo contest at our local library. Guess what! We both won a 1st place!!!! My 1st place winner is over there to the left. I won in Things. Mama won in People. Leave me a comment if you want me to put her picture of Uncle Ronnie over there!!!

Well, tonight is the Fine Arts Festival for Homeschoolers. The bell group is playing and my siblings and some friends and I are going to do a stick drama called 'Arise my Love'. I will try to put a video of it on here (if we get to video tape it, our video camera is acting weird.... ). Jackie will also be singing and so will Benjamin. As Benjamin is only three, we will be singing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. It is SOOOOOOO cute!!!!!

Benjamin's Birthday

Tomorrow is Benjamin's (my little brother) 3rd Birthday. We are going to McDonalds to have a little party for him. He is SO excited!!!!

Benjamin is all about Blue's Clues these days, so his cake is going to be a Paw Print. My Mom is going to make it. Isn't she wonderful?!?

Jackie and Joseph (my other siblings) have been trying to get Benjamin all excited about the presents. Benjamin is still looking foward to the cake, though... He's all about the cake this year! Who knows why????

Last Saturday we went to vist some of my Mom's family, so that they could have a little B-day party for Ben too. They live about 3 hours away, you see. We went to my Aunt Shannon and Uncle Ronnie's cabin up in the woods. Ben loved it! Well, all except losing his new soccer ball to a hill. He just set it down for a moment and there it went! Down, down, down....... But don't worry! There is a happy ending to this story! My Aunt and Uncle found the ball after we left, so Ben can have his ball when we see them again. He's pretty excited about that!

Ok, yesterday I went and mowed for my Grandparents. They gave me $20.00 for it. So, that brings my Basketball camp money to: $24.20 !!!!! Tomorrow I should be getting $15, and on Saturday $7 more, if not more! I also have about $15 more that my parents owe me for babysitting. So, that's the up date on the Bball money.

Today we went and played handbells at a nursing home. It was OK.....
